Pasadena Civic Auditorium

300 East Green Street, Pasadena 91101

The five-manual twenty-eight rank Möller theatre organ now housed in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium was originally designed as a touring organ! British organist Reginal Foort used a caravan of five trucks to move his Gigantic Touring Organ to venues throughout England in the years before World War II.

The installation of the Möller organ in Pasadena by David Junchen brought the instrument to new tonal heights. The sound of the organ at the Pasadena dedication reportedly moved Foort to tears.

The renowned 3,000-seat Pasadena Civic Auditorium was built in 1931 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Civic is home to the People's Choice Awards and Pasadena Symphony. The theatre also hosts musicals, world-class ballet and other cultural events year-round.  The building underwent a $1.3 million renovation in 1997, returning it to its original grandeur.
