    He Who Gets Slapped

1924 • Lon Chaney, Norma Shearer, John Gilbert. Accompanied Live by Mark Herman on the Mighty Wurlitzer- Introduction by Film Historian Randy Haberkamp.  Lon Chaney, "the man of a thousand faces", plays a man who is shamed at every turn in life. When his mortal enemy reappears, he sets his sights on revenge for the sake of the woman he loves. It's an emotionally charged performance with an electrifying conclusion. Perhaps this rarely screened film is the role for which Chaney should be remembered.
