The Mission Playhouse and Los Angeles Theatre Organ Society present The Cameraman Sunday afternoon, April 22nd at 2:30pm.

Film critic Leonard Maltin calls The Cameraman an “…entertaining silent comedy…brimming with invention, ingenious set pieces, and big laughs”. The 1928 film marks comic great Buster Keaton’s first film with MGM. Keaton plays a tintype photographer who has fallen for an MGM Newsreel secretary named Sally. In the hopes of winning her love, he sells his camera, only able to afford an outdated movie camera and applies to be a newsreel cameraman. While trying to film footage for his audition reel, chaos commences but his determined nature pulls him through. Is he able to win Sally’s heart?

Accompanying the film on the Playhouse’s 1924 Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ is 2 time American Theatre Organ Society’s Organist of the Year (1991 & 1993) Walt Strony.

So come and join us for an afternoon of great laughs at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse!
