The Mission Playhouse and Los Angeles Theatre Organ Society present Safety Last! starring comic genius Harold Lloyd Sunday afternoon, September 17th at 2:30pm.

Featuring one of the most iconic images in cinema history (Lloyd hanging off the hands of a clock on the side of a skyscraper), Lloyd plays a small town gentleman who moves to the city in the hopes of finding a successful job so he can marry his sweetheart. A stunt to draw attention to the store he works at takes a turn and comedy and suspense ensue above the streets of Downtown LA. This film helped Lloyd to become one of the major figures in motion pictures, and the film is just as vibrant today as it was when it was first shown to audiences when it came out in 1923.

Accompanying the film on the Playhouse’s 1924 Mighty Wurlitzer theater pipe organ is organist Brett Valliant.

So come and join us for an afternoon of great laughs at the San Gabriel Mission Playhouse!
